"Harper is my favourite Tilly": Matildas toddler steals the show

<p>In a heartwarming turn of events at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, the Matildas' post-game press conference took an unexpected twist when two-year-old Harper decided to steal the show.</p> <p>As her mother, Katrina Gorry, attempted to navigate the world of media interviews, young Harper had other plans, firmly establishing herself as the newest sensation in Australian football – or at least in press conference antics.</p> <p>With the Aussies securing their spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics with a resounding 10-0 victory over Uzbekistan, it seemed fitting that the youngest member of the team would make her mark in the spotlight. Sporting a yellow team jersey and adorned with Taylor Swift-esque friendship bracelets, little Harper made it clear that she was not to be ignored.</p> <p>As Alanna Kennedy patiently awaited her turn to address the media, Harper decided that the press conference desk was the perfect spot for her impromptu playdate. That’s why I’m working with you’,” Hutton said.</p> <p dir="ltr">As for cosmetic procedures, Hutton said it’s “a real thin line”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“There are people who I find hard to look at today. Their faces don’t look like the people I once knew,” she added.</p> <p dir="ltr">With that in mind, Hutton revealed that she doesn’t spend too much time on skincare.</p> <p dir="ltr">“The only beauty ritual I have is washing my face with soap and water,” she said. “It’s horrifying.” </p> <p dir="ltr">The few products she does use include <a href="https://www.priceline.com.au/strivectin-s-t-a-r-light-retinol-night-oil-30-ml" target="_blank" rel="noopener">StriVectin S.T.A.R. Light Retinol Night Oil</a> ($155), and the leaves of her aloe plant, which she cuts open before putting on her face and “décolletage”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I put castor oil in my hair too,” she added. </p> <p dir="ltr">“I just put it on my fingertips and rub it all over my scalp, and it makes my hair a little less dry and nasty.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Though she still models, Hutton admitted “it’s embarrassing” to be in front of a camera now.</p> <p dir="ltr">“You feel strange. You become self-conscious. Karl Stefanovic reveals "big first" for baby Harper

Karl Stefanovic's mother finally meets her granddaughter Harper

<p>He’s previously spoken about his heartache that his mother, Jenny, has been unable to meet his baby daughter, Harper, due to the coronavirus pandemic.</p> <p>But on Thursday, Karl Stefanovic was finally able to introduce his little bundle of joy to his mother Jenny, 70.</p> <p>Taking to Instagram to share the heartwarming snap, Karl wrote: “My mum lives in Cairns. Covid stopped her from seeing our baby Harper.”</p> <p>“She was scared to come down initially. She didn't want to get it. She didn't want to fly. Karl Stefanovic shares adorable video of daughter Harper

<p>Karl Stefanovic and his brother Peter Stefanovic spent a day at the park with their kids Harper May and Oscar Hamilton.</p> <p>Karl, who shares Harper with wife Jasmine Yarbrough, gave viewers a glimpse into his life as a dad with a video of his daughter playing with her cousin.</p> <p>"I went to the park yesterday with my brother. We took the two little ones to the park, Harper and Oscar. One is eight months and the other is nearly five months," Stefanovic told his fill-in co-host Sylvia Jeffreys, who is married to Peter.</p> <p>In the video, Harper and Oscar can be seen rolling around together on a picnic blanket. At one point, Oscar tries to poke his cousin in the eye.</p> <p>"He's trying so hard to show Harper is backward crawling skills," Jeffreys joked after viewing the clip. "He had a fixation with her eyes too and whacking his finger in them," Karl replied.</p> <p>The host of the Today show is always sharing photos with his little one.</p> <p>Karl is also the father to Jackson, 21, Ava, 15, and River, 13.</p>

Angelina Jolie reveals daughter Vivienne’s loss during lockdown

<p>Angelina Jolie has revealed about her family’s experience during the coronavirus lockdown in a new interview with <em><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.harpersbazaar.com/uk/culture/culture-news/a32837390/angelina-jolie-protecting-vulnerable-fighting-racism-pandemic/" target="_blank">Harper’s Bazaar</a></em>.</p> <p>"Like most parents, I focus on staying calm, so my children don't feel anxiety from me on top of all they are worrying about. I put all my energy into them. During the lockdown, Vivienne's bunny passed away during a surgery, and we adopted two sweet little ones who are disabled,” the mother of six explained.</p> <p>She explained that the new additions to the family need to be in pairs.</p> <p>"They need to be in pairs. "Everything hurts": Touching gift for baby Harper leaves Karl lost for words

<p><span>Karl Stefanovic took a little over a week off of the <em>Today</em> show for the arrival of his daughter Harper May with wife Jasmine, and his return has been emotional for everyone.</span><br /><br /><span>The 45-year-old has found it difficult not to boast about his new bundle of joy.  When co-host Allison Langdon asked how he was feeling, Karl replied with a sharp yet honest response: "Everything hurts. I'm tired. Emotional."</span><br /><br /><span>"It felt very difficult waking up this morning only five minutes after changing a nappy, but it's like riding a bike, you just get used to it."</span><br /><br /><span>While he's been back on the Today show desk this week, it has still been a very emotional rollercoaster for Karl.</span><br /><br /><span>He was brought to tears when co-host Allison pulled out a gift for the newborn moments before the show ended on Tuesday.</span><br /><br /><span>"We think we should open it on air to share it with everyone, but we've been so excited for you guys," Allison said as she handed the wrapped parcel over.</span><br /><br /><span>Karl pulled out a white onesie branded with the Today logo and immediately joked, "I'm going to try to get into it."</span><br /><br /><span>"She's now officially part of the team," Allison added.</span><br /><br /><span>While Karl admitted she is still yet to grow into the onesie, he boasted like any proud father.</span><br /><br /><span>"She's so tiny, just three kilos of awesomeness," he said.</span><br /><br /><span>"Thank you to my Today show family, you're going to make me cry!" an emotional Karl added.</span><br /><br /><span>The arrival of Karl and Jasmine's daughter was announced by the Today show's Instagram page on May 2nd.</span></p>

Celine Dion debuts dramatic new look in Harper's Bazaar photoshoot

Earlier this week, Williams set the record straight on her side of the story in an essay for <em><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.harpersbazaar.com/culture/features/a28209579/serena-williams-us-open-2018-essay/" target="_blank">Harper’s Bazaar </a></em>for their August cover and in the letter openly revealed she sent 21-year-old Osaka an apology after the match.</p> <p>“In the end, my opponent simply played better than me that day and ended up winning her first Grand Slam title,” Williams said.</p> <p>“I thought back to my first Grand Slam. It’s the one you remember best; it’s supposed to be the most special. This debacle ruined something that should have been amazing and historic.</p> <p>“Not only was a game taken from me but a defining, triumphant moment was taken from another player, something she should remember as one of the happiest memories in her long and successful career,” she continued.</p> <p>“My heart broke.”</p> <p>Williams detailed in the essay struggling to find peace in the days after the match against Osaka and once she began to see a therapist she realised there was “only one way to move forward".</p> <p>“It was time for me to apologize to the person who deserved it the most,” she said.</p> <p>“I started to type, slowly at first, then faster as if the words were flowing out of me.”</p> <p>In her letter to Osaka, Williams said: “Hey, Naomi! It’s Serena Williams. As I said on the court, I am so proud of you and I am truly sorry. I thought I was doing the right thing in sticking up for myself. But I had no idea the media would pit us against each other.</p> <p>“I would love the chance to live that moment over again. I am, was, and will always be happy for you and supportive of you. I would never, ever want the light to shine away from another female, specifically another black female athlete.</p> <p>“I can’t wait for your future, and believe me I will always be watching as a big fan! I wish you only success today and in the future. Once again, I am so proud of you. We are told to sit down and be quiet, which frankly is just not something I’m OK with. It’s shameful that our society penalises women just for being themselves.”</p>

Harper Lee, author of To Kill A Mockingbird, has died

<p class="body-el-text standard-body-el-text">Harper Lee, author of <em>To Kill A Mockingbird</em>, has died. Her publisher, HarperCollins, confirmed the news to <em>The New York Times </em>on Friday February 19. She was 89 and lived in her hometown of Monroeville, Alabama.</p> <p class="body-el-text standard-body-el-text"><span>In a statement, Lee's family said, "The family of Nelle Harper Lee, of Monroeville, Alabama, announced today, with great sadness, that Ms. Lee passed away in her sleep early this morning. Her passing was unexpected. She remained in good basic health until her passing. The family is in mourning and there will be a private funeral service in the upcoming days, as she had requested."</span></p> <p class="body-el-text standard-body-el-text">Lee, who was born Nelle Harper Lee in 1926, won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1961 for <em>To Kill A Mockingbird</em>, which was adapted into a beloved film starring Gregory Peck. After that, Lee stopped publishing her fiction for decades, living a reclusive live in Alabama. She was only seen in public on rare occasions, in which she received awards or honorary degrees.</p> <p> </p>

Grace Kelly’s granddaughter is just as beautiful as the late princess

<p>Until now for the most part Grace Kelly’s granddaughter, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, has flown under the radar. After a brief romance with Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III’s son, Albert II, Jazmin’s mother decided to raise her daughter out of the spotlight, in Southern California.</p> <p>Now 23-years-old and living in New York, Jazmin has made a “debut” in the latest issue of US <strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://www.harpersbazaar.com/culture/features/a11468/jazmin-grace-grimaldi-grace-kelly-granddaughter-0815/">Harper's Bazaar</a></span></em></strong>. </p> <p><img width="280" height="339" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7608/gallery-1437579381-gallery-1437430017-hbz-jazmin-embed-2-1_280x339.jpg" alt="Gallery -1437579381-gallery -1437430017-hbz -jazmin -embed -2-1" style="float: left;"/>The young princesses story is an interesting tale, too, having only connected with her father on her first trip to Monaco, at the age of 11. “Not having had that figure around, I missed that. She now visits Prince Albert, her stepmother, and half-siblings regularly. </p> <p>For the photo shoot, in which she is dressed in couture and photographed by Michael Avedon, you can see a striking, regal resemblance with the grandmother she never knew.</p> <p>An aspiring actress herself, she says that she has felt a bond with Grace Kelly from a young age, just by seeing her on screen.  </p> <p>“One of my first and fondest memories involving my grandmother was watching High Society,” she revealed. “It was the first time I realized we had a connection. I'm passionate about acting, singing, and dancing. I saw that in her in this movie. Harper Lee to release second novel 50 years after To Kill a Mockingbird

<p>Fifty years after&nbsp;<em>To Kill A Mockingbird</em>&nbsp;was published, the world-famous iconic novel is set to get a sequel – <em>Go Set A Watchman</em>. The 304-page book will be published by Harper Collins. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.</p><p>Interestingly, the sequel was written a long time ago by author Harper Lee and was, until now, thought to have been lost.&nbsp;</p><p>Since 1960 when The Pulitzer-winning&nbsp;<em>To Kill a Mockingbird</em>&nbsp;was published it has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide.</p><p>Set to be release in July, Harper Collins is planning a first printing of two million copies of&nbsp;<em>Go Set A Watchman</em>.</p><p>Lee said she had originally written&nbsp;<em>Go Set A Watchman</em>&nbsp;but, after advice from her editors, who were more interested in the flashbacks to the character Scout's youth, was persuaded to write another book, which became&nbsp;<em>To Kill A Mockingbird</em>.</p><p>Scout, also known as Jean Louise Finch, is the book’s narrator, looking back on the events of her youth as an older woman.</p><p>“I hadn't realised it had survived,” Lee said in a statement issued by Harper Collins. “So was surprised and delighted when my dear friend and lawyer Tonja Carter discovered it.</p><p>“After much thought and hesitation I shared it with a handful of people I trust and was pleased to hear that they considered it worthy of publication. I am humbled and amazed that this will now be published after all these years.”</p><p><em>Go Set A Watchman</em>&nbsp;is, like <em>To Kill A Mockingbird,</em> also set in Maycomb, roughly 20 years after the events of the first book.</p><p>A summary from the publisher says: “Scout has returned to Maycomb from New York to visit her father, Atticus. She is forced to grapple with issues both personal and political as she tries to understand her father's attitude toward society, and her own feelings about the place where she was born and spent her childhood.”&nbsp;</p><p>Publisher Jonathan Burnham said: “This is a remarkable literary event. The existence of&nbsp;<em>Go Set A Watchman</em>&nbsp;was unknown until recently, and its discovery is an extraordinary gift to the many readers and fans of&nbsp;T<em>o Kill A Mockingbird</em>. Reading in many ways like a sequel to Harper Lee's classic novel, it is a compelling and ultimately moving narrative about a father and a daughter's relationship, and the life of a small Alabama town living through the racial tensions of the 1950s.”</p>
